Nelson Lim is a ceramic artist and art educator at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He holds a Master's Degree from the National Tainan University of Arts in Taiwan and a Diploma in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. In 2017, Nelson held his first solo exhibition at Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan. Nelson has participated in numerous international exhibitions such as the 2017 Gyeonggi International Ceramics Biennale, Taiwan Ceramics Biennale, and Contemporary Ceramic Art in Asia. His works are collected by Yingge Ceramics Museum, Korea Ceramics Foundation and Ngee Ann Cultural Centre. In 2018, Nelson was accepted into the prestigious IAC (International Academy of Ceramics) based in Switzerland.
Nelson's experiments to fuse different materials and clay is informed by his own contemplations on displacement and integration within his practice. For a potter who values the traditional handicraft of ceramics, Nelson's mastery of material and process allows him to continually push the possibilities of this ancient art form.
